Pulau tiga means 'island of three' in malay... they are made up of 3 parts, first is the big main island, then the Pulau Kalampunian Demits or better known as' Snake Island' and Pulau Kalampunian Besar or 'Sand bar'.

Transport from Kota Kinabalu to Kuala Penyu can easily be found at the KK Bus Terminal next to Wawasan Plaza. You can also take the bus heading to Menumbok and stop at the junction going to Kuala Penyu. From there, you can either hitch hike or wait for a bus. Safety should not be a problem here in Sabah. :-)
